The Windham Bomber Athletic Hall of Fame honors former athletes who achieved excellence through competition, coaches who have made a difference
in the lives of their athletes and supporters of the athletic program.

julie tJulie Taft is a 1992 graduate of Windham High School. During her athletic career at Windham High School she excelled in track lettering all four years. Julie was arguably the most dominant girls’ track performer in Windham history. She was a state qualifier three years in a row, including qualifying in two events as a junior. She placed in the state meet on two separate occasions. She placed in the PCL in two events all four years and was a PCL champion in the shot and discus her senior year. She was second in the PCL her sophomore and junior years. After graduation she attended Penn State and earned her Bachelor’s degree in landscape contracting. During her freshman year she was active in track and earned the honor of qualifying for the Big 10 Conference Championship Meet.







dan bDan Burns is a 1983 graduate of Windham High School. During his athletic career at Windham he earned letters in baseball, football and basketball. In baseball Dan lettered all four years being chosen captain in his senior year and earning the second team all-PCL distinction twice. In football he lettered three years, earned second team all-PCL in his senior year and was chosen captain by his teammates that same year. Dan served his country in the United State Marine Corps. from 1983 until 1987 where he remained active in football. He studied criminal justice at Coastal Carolina University and then returned to Windham where he was born and raised. Dan was determined to give back to the community what it gave to him. He has 15 years of coaching experience for hot stove baseball, 4 years as the assistant baseball coach for Windham High School, 3 years coaching Windham Junior High football, 6 years coaching Newton Falls Pee Wee football where many Windham youth participated, 8 years as an assistant Windham High School football coach, and 4 years coaching Windham Junior High track. Dan has given countless hours and services to Windham’s youth over the years always taking pride in the community and its children.
